As ive mentions im contemplating going with a blazer body instead of a truck for the "trazer" which would let me have 2blazers:D

I found a guy with a 69-72tub, he says 500ish, complete i havent talked to him much so yall will fidn out more as i do.

On my frame its the 73-77, 2core supports, 2behind shackle, crossmember then the standard to above the rear tank.

How does the 69-72mount?

on the 72 blazer frame you will have to move the rear cab mount forwards an inch or 2 to make the 72 chevy cab fit on it

he wants to use the first generation fenders of a blazer on a truck that is also first generation.... the front clips swap with ease

Course they do, depending on the years you want to swap out though.

Still confusing, can't seem to decipher that last paragraph. :dunno:

Sorry for the confusion...let me try again.

I have a 73blazer frame. I have considered putting a truck cab, or blazer on it. I found a nice first gen body. I was asking how to put it on my 2nd gen frame.

On my frame it has the normal 2cowl mounts, 2body mounts about 2iinches behind the front shackles. a crossmember, and then 2mounts on top of hte frame in front of the tank.

I was *trying* to ask how to make/change the body mounts on my current frame to match those of a 1st gen.

Okay, I was pretty sure it was more than swapping front clips.

Check out the link I posted, it will show you the differnces between the two frames.

I'd say it's doable, guys put those year trucks on 73 an up frames all the time.

the frame models....how do you decipher? better yet what model is a 1st gen k5 and which is 2nd gen k5. #'s rounded off wb? k=4x4 c=2x4 i assume, so for the swap mentioned you would compare KA105(1st gen) and KA107(2nd gen), is this correct? thanks for info, i have a '69 k5 that i want to put on an '80 frame. 1st gen wb=104.5'' 2nd=106.5'' i was looking at using 1 1/2'' zero rate in rear and 1/2'' in front to get it back to 1st gen wb.
also considered 1/2'' zero rate in the rear and put front end 2'' forward for firewall clearance. when its lifted 8&3 with 39.5's, i don't think you will be able to tell that front tire isn't centered in wheelwell

Yeah, normall to move the front axle forward.

Mines moved up and I still hit with the 42's.
