Watch for the muzzleflash!
So after about ten years with no blinkers.:whistle:I replaced the flasher and it instantly fried it when I tried the blinkers.:haha:I finally pulled my steering wheel and started digging and found that one of the springs had snapped and was laying inside the column in a pile of white powder like it had been bumping around in there arcing away.:dunno:
So can you buy this spring or do I just need a whole new assembly? I know I'm being cheap by even asking but... I figure I can probably afford a spring.:haha:

Hit a wrecking yard. Pull it out there. Take the spring. They wouldn't even charge you for that. Or just get a whole assembly. Probably 5 bucks.

Dorman makes a repair kit with the top half of that switch, and the springs; depending on year and tilt column or not, their part # is 49300, 49303, something like that. O'Reilly lists them about $15.

The bottom half, with the attached wiring harness, is harder to source new. Both of my trucks, I just cleaned the contacts real good, gave 'em a brushing with emery paper, and replaced the top half (which cracks), put in all the springy bits fresh, seemed to do the trick.

Yeah I can see that the whole thing is white and brittle. But I got a set of springs at the auto parts store. For 2 bucks, I'll see If I can baby it til I can afford to actually rebuild the whole thing.
This is just one big can o worms that's gonna lead to rewiring the whole dash, new column, new steering box, reweld the frame, ORD brace.... And on and on and....:haha:
