i have a few questions before i start changing the body bushings in my 82 blazer. is it that difficult? do you have to lift the body much? or is it easy?
never done it,just figured id ask before i did it.
Kind of a loaded question(s)
Is it easy.........if there bolts aren't seized in the captured nuts and you would consider swapping a trans as a simple project, then yes, it's easy. If all the captured nuts break loose, and you are attacking the job with nothing more then a $29 HF tool set and you would consider an oil change challenging, then no, it is not easy
My basic procedure on a K5 is do one side at a time, loosen all of them first, then remove them from one side, lift that side via multiple floor jacks, blocks of wood etc and or an actual lift, replace bushings on that side, reinstall all hardware and snug, then repeat for opposite side, then tighten them all.
If just doing bushings you don't have to lift more then a few inches, if installing a body lift, add that into the height you need.
