ok im not big at all on body lifts but some of my mounts need replacing and i figure its cheaper than buying the stock mounts. what are your guys opinions on body lifts? and what am i going to run into in doing this?

I hate body lifts personally. the only way I would go at all is a 1 inch lift. It will give you some extra clearence in some areas. Things you are going to have to modify are your bumper brackets, lengthen your clutch rod, make sure none of your wiring is over stretched, possible steering column issues.
Why don't you just by a set of Prothane or Daystar urethane stock highth body mounts. $hit, you can get them for around $100.00 a set. Thats cheap for what you get.

do u know if those come with new bolts? cus i would rather go that route, i was thinking a 2 in body lift, i figured my only issue should be the x case shifter i cant think of anything else possibly the steering column, but i have electric fans and a cable shifter

A body lift is just blocks and longer bolt, You would still have to buy new mounts, I would go polyurethane.

With the poly mounts, you use the stock bolts that you take out, or you can just go buy some new grade 5 or 8 bolts from your local hardware store to save you the problem of trying to clean up the old rusty ones. Being in Wisconsin, I'm sure your bolts are rusty as $hit.

I actually prefer a 1" over stock.. that clearance is VERY helpful... 3", not for me....

its not too rusty, but i found out that two arent there when i was underit the other day, i remember him saying there was a body lift that he removed when i bought it so he just musnt have had the bolts

I wouldn't body lift simply cuz the more distance the body gets from the frame, the more frame flex you get, and also having to lenghten everything. I bought a K10 with a 3" body lift and had mucho problems that I had to fix for the first month I drove it. Didn't help that the lift was done by a redneck!

a 1" BL looks close enough to stock that it doesn't offend me, though the only reason i can think of doing it myself is to clock my transfer case. 3", no way.

I have had a 3inch body lift on my truck for a few years, its nice when it comes to cleaning mud off the undercarriage, also i didnt want anymore suspention lift and needed the lil extra to clear the tires instead of hacking the body. If id do it again tho id use a nice ord one inch body lift. I changed all the body mounts to energy suspention, bodylift was cheaper with bolts than just buying the bolts. Started as a cheap build but i should of just bought the bolts..
