Body swap or wheel it bashed?

So the body took a pretty good lick. I am weighing my options. I have a line on a cheap white body ($500) for a swap. I can't decide if I want to swap the body and re-join the sheet metal gang, or just replace the glass and a door (which I have to do anyway and will cost almost the same) and bash it for another year or two. Opinions?

Bash it some more. You know it's gonna happen again, so why try to avoid the inevitible. I've been debating the same thing with my rig. Both doors barely open and close, front drivers fender has pulled out two of the major mounts, taillights get tore up on every trip due to bashed fenders, hood only opens when I tug on the fender with the drivers door open.... I gave up and told myself to just keep bashing it.
 
It's got chraracter now and with it already bashed you'l be less scared of dents. Think of the roll as a good thing.:D

That door problem is an easy fix with a visit from Mr. Hammer. Figure out where it's rubbing and pound that spot until it no longer rubs... it worked well on mine, anyways.... :D
 
get the other body for a spare, and when the current one is ALL bashed up, change it.
 
I vote wheel it, if the doors rub then take 'em off. It seems if you continue to wheel it then something like this it bound to happen again.

Bash it!!!!!!! I gave up trying to keep mine straight. My drivers door is rubbing a little and the side view mirror is bashed up... I can barely roll the window up and down so after my spring and axle swaps , I'm gonna go for tube doors and go topless.. eventually narrow the front and rear and cage it up.....
 
I agree, either its a wheeler or its not. Why spend time fixing things that are undoubtedly going to get destroyed again if they serve no functional purpose? I think if I were using my truck in a way to dent it up like that, I'd be planning on money for tires, stout drivetrain, etc., not spending money worrying about how pretty the body looks...until the next trip, then worrying about banging it up, then when you do bang it up, feeling bad that you spent time/money on that in the first place.
 
I would get the spare body for a spare, and wheel whatcha got till it gets bad enough to swap...

And i almost fell into the creek cause your door wont hold weight leaning on it:doah::haha::haha:

It's EXCESSIVE weight that it has a problem with.... BUUUUUUURRRN!:haha: :haha: :haha: Plus, i never have to sit there.
 
Both dude, get a high mileage one with a nice body cheap...........make it purdy and capable for wide easy trails. :D

Wheel the Coonass out'a this one. :D
Ya can get some doors cheap though, white spray paint 'em if ya have'ta! :wink1:
 
4 tube doors would look cool. then you wouldn't bash up nice doors. the body, well you are just going to have to accept damage in a Burb.
 
Grab the body now, wheel the hell out of your rig until your current body is shot, then do the swap.
