Borgeson 935 Steering Shaft - Rubber Boot

I bought a Borgeson 935 Steering Shaft and installed it in my 82 k5 blazer and have had no issues except the rubber boot dry rotted & split in like two months and it's been mostly sitting and has been driven little since I installed it.

I am curious if anyone else has run into the same issue and if you've found something that works better as far as that rubber boot goes.

Mine split as well after a year or so. Haven’t worried about it.

Weird? I installed mine in 2006 = my boot is fine.
Maybe some kind of contamination dried it up/crack?
