Boxing Frame - Ideas for sourcing

It was a lot of work, lots of cardboard templates were used and I got to know the lmao
Guessing 3" exhaust pipe?

I don't plan on clocking my transfer case so I guess I would have space on either side to run the pipe. I just like how yours runs down one side, there seems to be plenty of room.

I think I may have settled on this boxing kit from Rob Bonney. I like that it's pre-cut which should cut down on a lot of fabrication time. I'm sure I'll need to get some 3/16 inch raw steel for some modifications.

Looks slick.

But once water/dirt/mud gets in the holes, is there a way it can escape? Seems it would just get trapped at bottom with nowhere to go? Guess you could drill some drainage holes on bottom

That's what I did…a couple holes in the low spots and a hose does a pretty good job of cleaning it out.

I'm planning on a few holes along the bottom of the frame. Should be fine if I keep up with it.

On my old FJ40 the front two-thirds of the frame was boxed like that and I would spend some time working the hose in and around everything to ensure I got all the dirt out - once I got through cleaning I would take the truck for about a half-hour drive at speed to let the constant airflow dry everything out before I would put the truck up.

2.5” to 3”

That kit should save you a lot of time.

I bought 3/8” and 1/2” flanged nuts in bare steel and welded those inside the frame wherever I need to bolt crossmebers or brackets to the frame. Something to think about….

I am going to DM you about your Wraptor. I have mine welded to the rear axle but I have tons of questions about installing the rest of it. I need some direct info about it and do's and don'ts
