I yanked out the carrier to weld up the ol' spider gears and upon splitting the case, realized that all the metal shavings stuck to the magnet inside the housing were from the gears chewing on a broken cross-shaft. Any ideas why this happened? Any ideas how to replace it without trying to convince the local boneyard to let me rip apart an entire 14bolt just for this piece?
