Why aren't they recommended for the street?

Never heard of this....all the vehicles built up until the 60's had king pins with bronze bushings ,as far as I know..from model T's to big trucks, and I never heard anything bad about bronze bushings on the kingpins...heck,they didn't even invent nylon until WWII,I doubt any cars had nylon bushings factory until the 60's probably..............................................................................................I remember the Moog catalog giving choices of nylon or bronze for axles on trucks and vans, but I dont recall ever seeing a footnote saying "notfor street use" on the bronze listings...I know getting both bronze and nylon bushing OUT of axle beams can be a real beech, even with a 100 ton press--did enough of them in the auto parts machine shop years ago...I'd have to heat up the axle when doing bronze bushings often...nylon ones sucked worse, most of the time they had to be melted out,and getting ALL the old nylon out was a miserable task...
