i wish i was asking questions about my old muscle car but not this time. I got a 91 buick century with the 3.3L motor and an auto trany. when it shifts from 3 to 2nd gear its violent and delayed sometimes. It has been getting worse for about a year now, it is still drivable and it is my daily driver. Im just wondering if you can have problems downshifting in only one gear like that or if i just worry to much. Should i sell the car before the trany quits on me.

Thanks in advance
levi

Assuming it's a TH350 Possibilities include:

1. Vacuum Modulator - leaking vac line or stuck modulator

2. Governor Malfunction or Circuit Blockage

3. Faulty Detent Cable Adjustment

4. Valve Body Malfunction.

Check for detent cable adjustment and/or vacuum line to the vac modulator.
