Build / suspension questions ?

Sounds good to me!
Expect something like these, I just picked them up a few weeks ago.
They are only 3" lift, but I have a D60, and will be using a 1" body lift.

Yes, got them through ORD.
And yes, they are made by Alcan. I have a set from ORD under the front of my '70, which has a shorter length than a square. They ride great compared to the Tuff country that I used to have.

Bad picture, my lack of planning. .

What is that ?

It's figuring out what shocks your gonna need. Where your bumpstops should be, limit straps, brake lines. An potential interference issues.

Easiest way to do it. When you get your brand new leaf pack, measure it's thickness, then take it apart. Remove the main leaf and bolt it to the hangers. Use some wood to mimic the actual thickness of the spring pack and bolt it to the axle.

Use a floor jack to cycle the suspension.

Doing this gives you accurate measurements for suspension travel and where you need to limit it.

It's the best way to do it.

You can also lift a tire with an engine hoist, forklift, gantry crane etc. This is a less precise way to do it.

emblem is to big for the space . no reveal around the edges on each side like the whole rest of the layout . my eye was drawn to this flaw .

otherwise looks good .

Yeah it’s been laying around my garage it wasn’t a planned addition . Lol

I agree with not using that emblem. A smaller one would be fine, possibly in the opposite upper corner from the gauge.

I like the "maintain tire pressure" warning. I have said this multiple times. The Jimmy will try to push or pull under power or deceleration if the tire pressure is not withing 2 pounds of each other.
