Building Blazer still

Well if it makes anyone feel better I did not get to relax!:haha:
I test drove it with the 38" tires on it and it felt like a race car so I kinda was driving it that way & the collector gasket blew then the brakes started giving my problems again! The rear driveline failed also! Then I was thinking that the premier power welder is pretty cool but what good does it do without any steel to weld with so I mounted some steel to my passenger side frame. I changed the collector gaskets, fixed the drivline, mounted steel to weld with if needed & fixed the brakes yesterday. The brakes was the relay to the electric Vacum pump, I have extra relays now! I also had to get my 44" tires back on! Well the story goes I finally loaded the Blaz at 6:30pm last night.:doah:So I guess relax was not in my vocab either!:haha:Leaving at noon for Grand Junction today.:woot:

You guy's will be proud to hear that the Blaz did out run a Wyo Tech students mustang & camaro in a short distance here in Laramie!:D The 555 runs pretty darn good!:waytogo: I am kinda glad the collector gasket gave way otherwise I was asking for a ticket! I felt like a KID again!!

Looks like the Blazer got named at Blazer Bash!:D

"Oh and just letting you know if your truck didn't have a name, the guys started calling it Thumper. That 555 sounds good."

THUMPER it is then! Lol:waytogo:

Well I thought I would put these pictures on my build thread. The first day of Blazer Bash at Billings Canyon in Grand Jucntion on the first obsticle this happened! Found out the front was put together incorrectly. Stephen from ORD called his dad Travis at their shop and got me new Ring & Pinion by 4:30pm that afternoon delivered toGrand Junction. I found a shop in Frutia Colorado that help me get going again! The shop is S & S Metal works & they kicked butt for me. We headded to Moab at 11:30pm that night.:woot:

At Area BFE the 2nd day of Blazer Bash everything went good on Green Day trail and on the way out on the dirt road this happened! Brand New Chrome Moly Axels! This is obviously a manufacturing flaw and it is getting warrantied. I had my stock axels so I put them in and made it to ORD BBQ on time!:waytogo: Great food and great people!

After hearing that 555 rumbling along without effort, it reminded me of a supercomp dragster engine...hence the reference of Thumper!
awesome truck Mike!

Thanks Man!!:waytogo: I am still getting the bugs worked out and need to fine tune things but I am almost there!!:woot:

The next day we had the Trifecta 18hr adventure!!:eek1: Thumper ran great all day & night long. Lol. We got to try out the onboard Premiere Power Welder with success!:woot:
The only issue I had was my fuel gauge stopped working and I thought I was going to run out of fuel. I was parked on a steep hill with the nose down and the fuel pump was not picking up any fuel so I thought I was out of fuel. I made it out and I filled up and had 3 gallons left in the tank so the 555 did better on fuel than I thought it was going to do.

Well thumper is sweet for sure. Had a blast even with the stupid turtle being broken the whole time. So can't wait for next year.

Sunday we did not get up in time after the Trifecta marathon so we did a short run on Hells Revenge, what a great trail!
You like the dirt on my rear tire from the oil from the broken axel. I wiped it off but never made it anywhere to wash it off and that red dirt sticks to everything.

Thanks Jake! You really had some bad luck but I am glad you and the Mrs had a good time. My wife and kids said they are not going to miss next year!:woot:That means I get to go again!!!!:thumb:

By the way Wyocowboy "Jake" helped me with my rear axel on Area BFE. I believe he saw red in my eyes and tried to calm me down! That axel should not have broke at 1200 rpms. Thanks Jake for not letting me hurt my hand!!:haha:

I run a few of these in my tank to keep it running while on my side

I put in the Aeromotive 20 gallon fuel cell to avoid this problem and I was fine when I was running. I only had a problem one time after we were stopped for another 30 minutes waiting, I had nowhere to go because of the size of the group we were with on Trifecta so I was parked on a steep angle sitting there for awhile. After I got it on flatter ground she started up and did not sputter again all the way out. Here is the fuel tank I got to see if I can improve on it. Thanks
