whats the ideal tubing wall to use? .120? or does it matter on the tubing diameter?

yeah .120 is a good thickness for general stuff, you can go beefyer, you have to sak your self how much distruction is it going to get?

the diamiter is up to you, just remember although a 3"x 1/4" tube would be indestuctable it is going to be a lot more weight up front

i found a place that has D.O.M Seamless Steel Round Tubing. is that good and easy to weld? im sorry, i just dont know what to buy since theres 1000 different types of steel out there.

wow
that would work good, but man alive it would beworth more than your truck lol

personaly i wouldent waste the money on dom (let alone stainless) in anything you dont have to trust you life to ie cage.

normal herw tubeing is fine for most worklike bumpers and sliders and whatnot.

get thicker tube if you want more strengh, way cheaper.

unless you want to make it indistrucable, Btw stainless is a bitch to cut, most likely really hard to bend, and unless you have stainless rods, or wire you welds wont be stainless

i found 2.0" O.D X .120" Wall D.O.M Seamless Steel Round Tubing in 6ft lengths for $48 a piece. i figure 12 ft could do a front bumper with some left over and that would only cost $125 shipped. i thought it seemed pretty fair priced to me.

edit- i just search for HREW(you messed me up with the herw) and found a lot better prices, thank you for answering my questions- i appreciate finally finding the answer i was looking for!

can anyone post pictures of where it connects to the frame? mounting brackets? its the only thing im confused about. if anyone can post pictures or write where the best place is, it would be very helpful!!

make some mounting brackets to mount the bumper to the stock factory locations or modify some stock bumper brackets to fit your needs :thumb:

the clevis tab you see in my pic, are 3/4 x 4" plate and are bolted to the out side of the frame rail, with two 1/2 g8 bolts, and the plates sit about2" hire than the top of the frame.

uses the top stock brackit bolt and the other wad drilled afterso the bolts sit inline and both snug to the frame and plate.

I have heaved massive loads on it, and buryed my truck up to the frame and pulled on this no problem

Dleroy43 Got any nore pictures of the MOO Burb? Looking for how he chopped the rear quarters and made he front quarters larger while still keeping the factory look.

I think he just cut out and welded together the bottom of the quarter panels. Too much work if you wheel imo espeacialy for these bigg ass burbs. Just pm him ans ask him what he did :wink1:

Tried to PM him but he is not accepting PM's. Was wondering about the front to. Looks really nice but must be a bunch of work.

it was in fourwheeler mag I think in july. On their website, they had a short vid of it and some of the buildup. just press pause when you see something usefull.
