What cupholder solutions have you guys come up with for the 2nd row of a suburban?

I drive my friends everywhere, and most think you can't ride in the burb without enjoying a frosty adult beverage. Tired of worrying about spills.

Ordered some magnetic ones for a christmas gift, going to try those out in my truck, but doubt they will hold through the carpet.

Who has a factory looking, or removable solution that you like?

I'm super picky about my interior looking stock. I've got 2 12v ports on teh back of the console already, but am considering just tacking on some of those foldable wall mount cupholders to the back of the console. Better ideas?

I HATE non stock stuff in my interior, but it may be time to just deal with it.

That, or grab a wally world style floor console for temp use in the back seat.

I'm thinking about something like this for my burb...

clicky

what about swapping in a console out of a newer rig?
the interior on my 95, the console has a cupholder that swings out and opens up for use and tucks away and is hidden when not in use. that would look fairly stock in the factory location?

Was thinking about it. Although, i LOVE the old console. Big cupholders, big interior, great place to stash rubbers under the lift out cupholder, etc....

The 92-94 one was not bad, but not as big. The 95+ one is WAY too narrow, and only has one real cupholder for hte front seat.

I DO like the flip out one for hte rear seat in those ones though. The 2000+ tahoe ones seem like the best compromise, but they are also pretty small inside. Wonder if i could mod a 91 console to add hte flip out part in teh back.

Adult beverages? You're willing to go to jail to keep your passengers happy?

Open the console, pull the pin on the limit strap and fold the lid back 180 degrees. Let your rear seat passenger put their beverages in the rectangle cutouts in the lid.

For temporary use you could find some of those dorky units that clip in the window track.

For the 3rd row, you could modify the armrests to hold drinks. I considered this for the back of the K5, but with the topper bolts, it's much easier to attach something than in a burb.

I always forget about those cupholders, although, i had to rivet my limit strap in, to keep it from hitting the knees of the back seat passengers when open.

I should look into getting another stock console, and hacking off the front half, and attaching it to the back of the current one...
