1/2 ton status
I picked up a GM 1 ton IFS transfer case for chassis cab. I previously had access to Hollander PowerLink to look up notes and interchange. I no longer do. Based on a little research on Car-Part, I find a few clues. The choice on 1 ton transfer cases for 1 ton 4x4 chassis cab is 10K or 12K GVW. Years may split as 92 and older, 93 (1 Year), and 94/95-2000.
The mid plate on mine has initials and a 7-18-04 date stamped. I'm guessing a rebuild date, so who knows if it was rebuilt to a different year configuration than casting date clues. It has a round flange front output. The rear case half has a 1995 cast date and the front a 1994 cast date. There are three electrical connectors, one front for shift position, a tailshaft speed sensor and a single wire connector near the tailshaft. I can post images later.
