Hey guys, I have my 85 c30 crew cab dually and it needs some new tires. My tires are shot and leaking all over. I have plans to swap it over to a 4x4 shortly down the road so I only wanna buy tires once.

So I want to run 285/75/16 on a 4x4, I think it just looks good so my question is will 285's fit on my c30 just temporarily, I know I need a 2" spacer between the rears but will they fit on the front and still steer

that tire will be SUCKED in on a stock drw rim.

also look here for correct spacers to correctly run drw rims spaced out .

http://www.wheeladapter.com/dually_spacers.php good product and service . used him a few times for customers trucks.

and lots of guys do the 235/85/16 rear 4 and then 265/75/16 front .

you might get away with 255/85/16 rear 4 and 285/75/16 front for the fat look . or just go all 6 maybe .

just checked 32.4 ish on 285/75/16 tire . and the 255/85/16 is a 33.04 tall. that's a little to far apart to se the 2 sizes . but look at tire places sites and look at specs and find something close .

as to clearing 2wd front couldn't tell ya for sure at all.

Yeah those are the exact adapters I'm gonna buy, I've seen guys running 265/75/16 with a two inch spacer in the rear. I figured 285's could prolly squeeze in but wanted to double check

remember tires sidewalls should not touch or heat will build up and weaken the sidewall and cause problems .

I know some do it and no problems but ya never know.

Yeah I'm not gonna run them together. Okay see if this works, hopefully 76zimmer will chime in. But if I'm not mistaking he is running a 265/75/16 with a 1.5" spacer with like a 3/4" gap between the bulge. Now if I added a 2" spacer with a 285 wouldn't you think that would clear.

I mean a 285 is 3/4" wider on paper but really how much wider would it be mounted on a 7" wide dually wheel. Idk that's just my late night reasoning lol

my 265/75/16's are Goodyear Duratrac's 10ply which do run a bit bigger in dimensions than some of the cheaper brands...Cooper/Kuhmo/Mastercraft etc.

Check the tires you want for dimensions, not only size but manufacturer...there are too many differences in the same sized tires to say it will or will not fit...go to the tire manufacturers site or tire rack for the tire dimensions.

my situation turned out great I think...it will stay C30 as I have only tow vehicle duty planned for this truck.

if tire has sidewall lugs these can play huge role in how the tire will fit together in a drw application . so as said check them .
