Please forgive my ignorance with trannys.O.K.,I'm running 350/700r4/NP208 right now, soon to be swapping in a 454.The 400 from the doner is two wheel drive. Can this be used to mate to the 208? I want to go with the SM465,but I'm afraid my budget won't allow it.To many parts to round up.

Yes, you can convert a two wheel TH400 to a four wheel. You have to replace the ouput housing and shaft. To do so, the tranny must be completely disassembled, as the tailshaft is the first thing to go into the case. It would be easier and more cost effective to trade your two wheel TH400 for a four wheel unless you are going to completely overhaul it anyway.

Not sure if this would translate, but on the TH350, the easy way is to cut the output shaft. Check Advance Adapters for their "kit". There may be two model numbers; one with shaft, one without.
Edit; You'll need the input spline count. Looks like ~$70 difference.
Might be best to call them.
