No getting out of bed today for me. I just took the worst fall I’ve had since being here. My fault. God Damn did I get ultra lucky I didn’t break anything. I went down Hard on all hard pointy objects like a ton of bricks.

I have virtually Zero Balance upon standing. I just straight went flying toppling over. When the two female nurses stood me up , using a wrestling gable grip to pull me up I could Not get my Right Leg/foot under me flat on the ground at all to support me. It Literally Does Not work at all. It was All they could do to get me to my bed. NOT an easy task I got pretty banged up, but nothing I can’t taje. Just sick of Fing falling and getting thrashed.

I would think that maybe you should just not get out of bed with out assistance.

Hey Rob, do they have any electric chairs the nurses could put you in to move around the facilities? maybe joystick controlled?
Sounds like being couped up in your room is a little rough on you.
I don't know how incapacitated you are, but constantly falling can't be good...just a thought...

please be safe dude !! :waytogo:

I noticed Rob posted this in Bob's "Frustration" thread..... Didn't know what to make of it, and have been hoping to hear more from Rob about how he is doing or maybe from his son..

Edit: this was last Saturday @ 6:45 pm

10 ml of morphine in 5 ml of saline is the common single dose amount when your on prescription oral morphine. I'm sure that's what he was talking about. One dose every 4 hours is typical and people can tolerate much higher doses than that. For some types of pain, especially cancer related , Its the only way to insure relief. I only know this because I got offered this option by my doctor today.
From what Iv'e learned with cancer and Rob has said several times. Its a constant battle between riding the edge of being pain free but totally baked, passed out, oblivious....verses feeling pain but able to communicate or do things you want to do. Your are constantly having to manage the two against each other and find the happy middle where you can function.

Maybe someone could pm his son. Let him know that we are thinking about them, his dad is important to us, hope everything is alright, and see if anything is needed.

Rob, if you ever read this, just want you to know that even though I don't post much and have kept track of all your progresses thus far, I'm going to say something that may or may not anger you or others here on this forum. But take it into consideration that what I'm about to say may be the relief you're looking for. Here goes...

It's okay. You can go now if you're ready to. You've fought a long and hard battle. Don't feel obligated to hold on. It's too much to suffer from the pain both for you and for all of your family and us to watch you. Let go and be at peace with God. Your suffering will end and you'll be pain free for eternity. Peace be with you forever my friend.

@thatK30guy thanks for having the courage to say these words. It was something that I wasn’t brave enough to post but have had on my mind.

Well put. Rob, I can't even fathom the level of pain you've already gone through. You've solidified you spot in the bad ass hall of fame for sure. I can only hope if put in similar circumstances I can fight like you have shown us. Peace be with you in whatever choice you make.

Thank you for sharing your fight, the ups and downs without sugarcoating it.

I think I speak for most of us when you two say this. I know I've wanted to say something for quite some time, but just don't know how to say it, but @thatK30guy did an excellent job.

Rob, if it's too much to hold on, let go, take your leave of this life and enjoy the rest of eternity without the pain of this mortal realm. I've been praying for some time now that God will ease your suffering as He sees fit. You've done a hell of a job showing us what being a tough ol badass is like, now enjoy some rest. We'll do what we can to fill your shoes and feel lucky to be half as awesome as you.
