Carmax sold me a LEMON!

My 1996 Z34 Monte is giving me trouble and turns out that Carmax really didn't inspect it like they said. Here's my story(it's too long to rewrite so I'll just link to it):

Seems like everybody has had some bad experience with a dealer or so. We had a problem once with a Lumina Eurosport and ended up selling the car. Long story on that one too.

After that, we have only bought one other car from a dealer and we still have that car today.

How many miles does this thing have? What motor? I know how it goes with both modern day wrenching and computer systems and w/ used car buying, but when a bolt is missing from the alt and the bracket for the PCV is all messed up... WTF? What the heck kinda hack is working on these? It sounds like you are SOL though unfortunetly, unless you can get that friend of the family to pull some strings or give you a good price/what you paid for it on trade for another vehicle. I doubt you would get a refund. Unfortunetly all they have to say is buyer beware and they are pretty much off the hook even though they lied. Sucks

Thats what the BBB and the state attorney general is for!!! They can always help anybody out, especially in cases like this!!!

Does your state have a lemmon law? Most places like that buy cars in lots from larger dealers or at auctions. I would think you could sue. My bet that car is from out of state. How many miles were on car? Good Luck.

I've had better luck with buying from a person then dealers. One guy couldn't even tell me what type of motor was in it!! I've only had one good vehical from a dealership and that was when I did my own 110 point inspection. You just can't trust many people anymore.

Damn Blaze, i wouldnt wanna piss you off! In highschool i worked at a dealership that sold a car to someone, a coupleweeks later the guy went through the same thing that you did and the dealer wouldnt honor the repairs. The guy also found the sheet that has the checklist for thier 110 point inspection. It had "NOT SAFE TO DRIVE" written on it in bold print. Dealer said they fixed it, but didnt. One morning i came into work and the car was parked in the ditch in front of the dealership with word LEMON written on the windshield. LMAO. Sorry you bought a fooked up car man.

Thanks for the support, guys. I haven't gotten in touch with anybody over this thing yet. I've had exams and everything, so I was concentrating on them. I might just trade it straight up for a 94 fullsize Blazer or trade it and my Lebaron for a 95 Trans Am covertible. Don't know yet, waiting for my fiancee to get here so we can go look at them.

Hey lowlevell, that's pretty funny about the car in the ditch. A friend was telling me that a friend of his family bought a really nice, expensive car(he didn't know what it was) but it turned out the be a lemon. They refused to buy it back so he took it to a sign shop and had them put vinyl graphics all over the car so it looked like a big lemon and had "this lemon bought at" and the nam eof the dealership on it. He drove it around for a while like that, but the dealer bought it back because they said they were losing business because of it! LMAO.

I went over there on Friday to buy that Blazer. They said they'd give me $6600 on the Monte and $1000 on the LeBaron. That would still stick me with the other $3000 for the Blazer. I can't afford that. The best thing I can do is wait and see what happens with this Carmax crap and then go from there.
