That is one of the KDF vehicles that secure convoys (aka C.U.L.T's, Common User Logistic Train's)to the release point at the border (to the north, name withheld for classisfication purposes). Alot of them running around, as well as some 2500 Chevy's with 7.62 and 50 cals mounted on them. Talk about some crazy driver in those things.
Manned by US troops?
No, Kuwaite's (sp?) Their version of securing our forces (mainly equipment convoys) to the border. Pretty funny to watch them ride around our 7 tons/HMMWV's with 50 cals and about 5 Marines/Soldiers ea. on them.
Hope they don't stall in front of ya.................oops! Ya know, with all that oil money....................they could have bought H2's at least!!!
They are pretty meticulous with their vehicles about like the Spanish are. Well kept and cleaned when not in use or well they are working on them all of the time. Most are newer model Chevrolets, Fords and Even a few Dodges. Some diesel and some gas. Just depends on what they wanted at the time. Let me find some more pics when Iget to work tomorrow and show you some of the "Armor Mods".
i could think of a thousand vehicles id use before outfitting a plastic pickup with that sort of equipment...
We worked with some of those types of guys picking up fuelers from the northern end of the snad box. They used 3/4 ton chevys and fords with the the back windows and sometimes doors removed and a couple of guys sitting there with 240 or 249 machine guns. The drivers are truely insane. Its fun to watch them though. Last rotation I did they didn't have much in the way of armor on the vehicles and hadn't gone to spraying them non-reflective flat black yet.
Kool can I buy one at the dealer??just ask for the 50cal option??
Yeah, and don't forget to mention the sunroof sniper option!
