You guys might recall the dubiously named "100 Squarebodies" auction in Grand Island Nebraska in June where 2 Chalets and 2 Casa Grandes were among the pile that got sold off. One of the two Chalets was #0025 which had a winning bid (allegedly) of $10,000: https://www.proxibid.com/1976-Chevroley-K5-Blazer-Cheyenne-Chalet/lotInformation/69190016

Same one now at the Big Iron Auctions. Bring extra steel for the driver's side floorboard ..... and for the .......................

Next good question would be if the June 25 Proxibid figure of $10 grand is legit, or a typo, or your relation bought a batch of vehicles under one big offer and so the individual vehicles might have been assigned an equal amount. Poor ol' #0025 there looks to be a parts donor worth no more than one grand, maybe two, tops.

Big Iron is for selling, not buying. Stuff brings crazy money on there.

JP (the guy selling it) overpays for junk all the time. He sells it for a profit anyway.

Sold today for $3,000. I put a couple bids in yesterday. Should have bid today.

I should have recognized the name within my giant ad text pile - if he snagged Chalet #1158 back in Sept 2014 for $1,700, then he might have made a profit off it. But the last guy at the end of the speculation markup line (after a good repaint) seems to either not be able to unload it for nearly $90 grand, or else there is a glitch in the FB system for not marking that listing after a year and a half as being "sold."

Call me a pessimist on values, or not up to speed on factoring inflation in, but that #0025 looks to be not much more than what unrestorable K5 parts piles sell for, with a $4 or $500 soon-to-be-orphaned camper unit on it.
