cheap long slip drive shaft

Im trying to do this with my 2 piece rear also, but Im going to lenghten it to run it in the rear, does anyone know if this will work.

early to mid '70s longbeds w/4spd had a one piece rear shaft. They are looooong. Not sure the year they stopped the 1 piece in longbeds. I've owned two, but both were 1/2 tons w/1310 or s44 u-joints.

Are there any of these shafts that would have 1410 joints in them? If not, where could I get the parts to switch it over?

I think the halfton suburbans ran those shafts also.

To my knowledge GM never used 1410's on any thing from K5-K30's, maybe on the C50-60 series. 1350 was the biggest joint used on the light duty trucks.
Anyone correct me on this?

Regardless, this is a great budget write-up. Would any of yall recommend this for a street truck? Can a shaft be huilt at home and then balanced by a shop?

id raher bring them the parts and just have them build/ balance it. that way you know it would be done right.

2 piece shaft

I've owned 5 trucks w/a 2 piece rear shaft - 77,78 k20s, 77 c20 burb, 79 k30 reg cab, and my 84 c30 cc. I think that the 73-80 4spd/205 trucks all had 2 piece shafts
