I miss my burban bad. Im trying to think of ways to get her running again cheap as possible. She is completely gutted. No axles or powertrain. I do have a brand new wiring harness from painless as well as the big block taking up floor space that i could use. I have a 2wd Th350 thats been hacked into a 4wd tranny but it is on a 20 mile rebuild setup to mate to a 208. It was setup for a 350/350/208 combo. It now has the ORD engine Xmember and DIY motor mounts. I could pull some stock axles and the 208 out of the junkyard. Any idea's on how to resurrect my beloved cheaply as possible? Just looking for thoughts or input on this.

Some parts I have to play with -
14BFF 4.10 gears good to go
stock 10 bolt needs complete rebuild
468 BBC needs some parts but could be complete for under $500
TH350
new spring perches

Parts I would need.
front axle
rims and tires
body mounts (front clip is off)
F&R leaf springs
t-case
Shocks

I have it setup for a manuel tranny but have the pedals for an auto
Have a spare hydroboost setup along with stock vacuum brake setup
Have a 32 spline SM465 w/ bellhouse and hydroclutch setup
Have a divorced Napco T-Case know nothing about it.
have a decent 208 crossmember
I know im forgetting some parts.
I can't seem to give up on her for some reason.

Define cheap.

Personally, sounds kinda like a mess that you have on your hands.

I didn't read your list of parts, but i think it would probably be smart to pickup a running parts truck on craigslist for cheap. Swap everything over, and be on your way. Sell extra parts, scrap the rest, and hopefully not be into much $$$.

Cheap= least amount of money spent on getting it running.

I may have to pick up a donor vehicle. Hopefully I can do enough trading/swapping to get the parts needed. It will probably be returned to stock unless i can snag some cheap 4" fronts

It is a mess in all honesty. I tore it down thinking i could do a full resto on a limited income budget.

Sounds like you gotta ask yourself the real question: In its torn down state, are you really that attached to YOUR suburban?

If not, or if you can find a better one to get excited about, i think you'd be way ahead time wise switching trucks. Yes, might cost slightly more depending on how you work it, but even if its not worth a ton, your time IS worth SOMETHIGN.

If you are looking at a donor vehicle, might as well look at a replacement vehicle if yours is that far torn apart.

Just a thought.

i'd have to agree with above post. cheap doesn't define running and reliable. if you are in love with the burb, keep her and get a parts vehicle. if there is no emotional attatchment and you just want to fool around, just get another straight body girl and use your old burb for parts and booty calls. good luck!
