Finally got my new wheels and tires on today. H1's with Greatlake offroad rock rings and 39.5/13.50 Iroks. a lot bigger than the 36" Military OZ's that measured about 34" I had on there for a year. With and without the top.:D

so how do you like the iroks?

i'm considering a set, in the same size, but i have heard they aren't good in the mud, what are your thoughts?

Just got back from a weekend of wheeling with the new tires. Love the Iroks, dont do mud unless I have to, but they work great on rocks and the slippery Georgia red clay. As soon as the 305 craps out, i'm going to put in a 350. Can't complain right now about the motor, haven't had any toubles out of it.

I haven't had any problems with the 350 in the 'burb either, other than power-output:D. Has run smooth for 5 years ,now with 221kmiles on the ticker. I'm sure that 305 has got to be leaving a lot to be desired when you need heavy throttle or pulling power.

I reccomend looking into later-model Vortec iron heads when you swap in a 350. NICE bump in torque

The 305 has definetly lost some power since 1987, although it only has 118,000 miles on it.

Oh it's not a loss for me, I'm not much of a mud fan, probably just like your not a rock fan. Although living in GA it's hard to get away from the sticky stuff :D

kinda looks like this?

Looks great. Kinda looks like what Mad Max would drive if he had a 4X when the top is on. The trimming looks like you thought it out before you started hacking too.
