Choke light came on last nite

Started my truck up and the choke light came on in the dash and wouldnt go out, truck wouldnt come off the choke either no matter what I did. What would cause this? Ive had the fast idle hang up on another carb before but it didnt effect the dash light, just the idle.

Any suggestions

Truck is 84 K5 with stock motor, headers and Holley Street avenger 570cfm carb w/elec choke. Carb has been on for about 6 months or so and hasnt given me any problems.

the electric choke should shut off on its own once the truck warms up.maybe just needs to be cleaned or readjusted.is the egr still hooked up?that would make the choke stay engaged i believe.id check the linkage to that if its there,or maybe adjust the choke.

I dont have the EGR or any other emissions hooked up. The choke sticking is one thing, but why would it throw a CHOKE code in the engine bay.

I think that choke light means only a couple things, one being the choke did not open all the way, do you have 12v to the choke wire? The other may be a ESC code?

I am not 100% sure, so I held my thought. I think if that light stays on then the choke cicut is inoperative meaning no 12V to coil. That would mean it wouldnt heat up and pull the choke off.
