what do you have and what do you perfer?
I like them both. Sometimes it's easier to just throw up the fake one.. and it's a nice one it's not too bad. Mostly we just use real ones.... and I usually get a noble Fir.
Took the gang out last night and it's up!
Douglas Fir. When I was a kid my folks had an "artificial" tree. Someone had allergies, or something.
trees run around $30.00 here (WTF? I live in the PNW)... so my ex-wife convinced me that it would be a smarter investment to get a fake tree that will last 5-7 years then spend the $$ on a real tree. It works out though, since my new mother-in-law is allergic to pine (WTF??) so she can come over during the holidays. (in other words, my ex-wife screwed me two ways with that fake damn tree - then left it when she moved out)
We haul Christmas trees from Oregon and Washington and deliver them all over California. He hauled the last truck load today and that makes 41 loads this year. A few years back my dad and I were on the cover of the San Diego paper when they did a story about where the christmas trees come from.
Space is kind of limited in a trailer home. I have a 4 foot fiber obtic tree sitting on the 12" powered sub in the livingroom.
My dad and I always used to get one from the bush. Last year he wasn't feeling good so we had to buy one.
Never have seen/bought a fake one!
2 years ago we went and bought a real one from the local Highschool to support the band or something like that. Anyway, we got it up and decorated and that night the wifee and I were sitting on the couch watching the boob tube. Well, we kept hearing little noises comeing from the tree so I whipped out the flashlight and climbed under for a closer look. Turns out there were literally THOUSANDS of little green bugs covering the trunk of the tree and actually eating it. Well needless to say that tree got thrown out side and my wife vacumed the floor for what seemed like hours cause we were both grossed out thinking about those bugs all over our carpet. Ever since that day we have owned a fake tree. We get wreaths that generate the smell and you can barely tell our tree is fake.
well, if you get rid of the TV, you could fit a bigger tree in there
nice tv and tree btw
My wife's family tradition has been to cut down their own tree. So, we have been carrying it on.
Of course, as soon as my wife and her sister were out of the house; they started buying trees from the local store.
Naw, he just needs to put a picture of a tree on the screen come Christmas morning.
Why is it that every time we see that monster TV of yours it has a picture of an ugly old man sleeping on it?
that is sean connery(sp?) from indiana jones
I don't care if it's Santa Claus...
Yes it is, good eye.
Good question. I watch alot of movies, and really don't think too wait till there is a hot chick on the screen before I take a pic, LOL.
real tree -- it is more like i do not want to have the fake 1 in the attic all year long
I hate the holidays except for the whole eating and watching football part of it. Everything else pretty much sucks. People are going nuts trying to find gifts, any place to shop is packed, the streets are packed, people are rude because they are mad about the hassle they are going threw, etc. I could go the rest of my life without the holiday season. So as you can guess I voted for no tree.
This is our first year with a fake one. Last year my wife bought a 9ft fake one for like 75% off after the holidays.
The same 9ft real tree here would have been at least $120 bucks
So far it was nice and easy to put up and looks great....no pine tree smell though
I used too hate shopping for "The Perfect Gift". Now I do 90% of my shopping on Ebay. If they don't like the gifts, screw'em !!
