Bone stock is fine if it runs. No plans to bash our bodies up, but some brush pinstriping possible.
I brought my bone-stock truck 2 years ago. Saggy springs, running boards, the whole thing.
And last year I ran bone stock suspension and tires (though the drivetrain has been modified).
I'm heading up there in a couple days to scout this year's route. Still on bone stock suspension and stiff highway tires. I'll get back to you if I encounter trails too gnarly for bone stock rigs, but body damage isn't the goal here. I think you'll be fine.
The tree branch pin striping is actually my main concern since it has shiny original paint. I normally keep it showroom clean, but I'm not afraid of getting it dirty in the name of adventure. I've got a couple friends with K5's i'll mention this to also.
So you'll never drive in the woods? Hard to imagine. Actually, I want you to scout with me - you're in charge of trimming the brush. For good trails, we need more guys up there with nice fullsizes and less guys with UTVs.
Any time lined up for 2019,,
Our first run for this year is scheduled for May 18th. We'll probably be doing several runs throughout the summer.
The "official" CK5/UPO trip is scheduled for August 15-19th.
