and at 21mpg u musta had an OD tranny ;)
Not nessiarily, if the truck is geared right and you keep it in the max torque band you can hit 20-22 MPG without OD.

did it have a/c?

the truck was built with ac as the build sheet shows yet the dash and firewall say otherwise. it was ordered for an oil rig company out of alaska..i don't think they needed it,LMAO

lol no don't spose they did. I am just looking for a 6.2 to swap into my 454 powered crew dual as it needs a rebuild and what better time to start a 6.2 swap to eventually be turboed and propane injected? :D

hey camsk5...

whats the current deal on this motor? has it been sold? do you still want it?

i have been driving up and down i-5 in oregon/washington for a week or two now. and eventually i will be heading back down to california. not sure on the exact time frame just yet. but if you and 55williy can figure something out for a few more weeks give or take, i could load it up and stop by your place on the way back down to grass valley for you.

but like i said i'm not sure on the time frame, its all up to the dr.s as to when i can head back home...

but i would be willing to do it if it was still around when i started heading back down there..

this is still available and I have a cummins now...
its located in Corvallis Oregon

If you are looking for a conversion then this is what you want.. no searching for brackets and puliies etc etc etc

Is the 6.2 more relieable than the 6.5?
I have been reading in other diesel forums that the 6.5 has some PMD problems.
Isn`t the 6.2 completely machanical, no computer, or other crap to go out?
Can you send me pics?

No computer, completely mechanical engine control. Very reliable motors if you know how to take care of a diesel (not hard to do either).

the motor is not located at my shop... I bought it originally from 55 willy and its sitting in oregon 350 miles away... sorry...

but it does look like every 6.2 out there...pics are all over the web
