Hey officers, I have a jurisdiction question:

I've gotten over 20 parking tickets for total BS in my train station parking lot. Some are from county cops, others are from public safety. Is there a jurisdiction issue I can bring up, since I could theoretically get two tickets in one day by the two different divisions?

You'd actually have to check with your state law on that. I only have knowledge of two states, California and Oklahoma. Oklahoma, all officers are considered state officers, but from what my brother told me, jurisdiction is sort of adhered to.

Here in California, the same goes for the cops, but all the agencies have a working agreement so Officer Bob from X Dept. can stop and cite John Q. Public while in Y Dept's area of responsibility.

As for New York, I have no knowledge of the jurisdictional issues.
