I don't know what it weighs, but I just installed one and it is damn heavy... I think alot of the extra weight is in the HUGE brake drums. I am hoping to go to disc's sometime to dump alot of that weight.

Don't forget lockers. The detroit is basically a drop in into the carrier on the 14 bolt. You need a completely new carrier for the 70.

If you want to run unmodified hummer rims, you can get a wider D70 and not have to use any spacers. I think even the widest 14 bolt (van) is still not wide enough for them. Just a consideration /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
