Couple more questions about interiors......

Ive gutted my interior and am having it LIne Xd. Ive got a couple questions for those with gutted interiors

1) What do you do with the wires: Transfer case shifter, rear speaker wires.

2) Is there any custom or trick covers for the 4x4 shifter. The black plastic one is ok, but im thinking of something that wouldnt be as bulky and may look trick.

For wires I was thinking of running a very small conduit (metal or PVC) under the truck and then having them pop out where needed. The conduit would protect them from almost all road or trail damage.

X2. Ive got a dual batt box going behind the rear seats so ill be running abunch underneath. Dont think ill need any conduit, just the inside frame rails. I will also just use the black plastic t-case cover, looks fine imo.

i ran mine underneath as well, the shifter cover i replaced it with a generic floor shifter rubber boot from autozone

Did you make a decision about the wires?

Also, I got to thinking... wouldn't a nice simple rubber shifter boot with a metal trim piece look nice?

No decision about the wires. One idea is to run them overhead thru all the plastic molding up the B pillars, under the headliner and down the back pillar under the plastic.

As far as the shifter, I like that idea, but ive got a square type frame, so that round one wont work so much.

I've seen stuff like that with a square or rectangular frame, so there should be something out there that fits.

For wires, I planned on using 3/8ths fuel line to cover them up, although I never got around to it Got the idea from Shawn (supersize75k5)

welp Ive got an idea on some for some of the wires. Mainly the wires going to the 4x4 shifter. The rest I can hide or get around. Will update is my idea works or even looks good. lol.

Yeah i thought about a cool looking shifter boot and frame. Gotta be something out there or what not. I know it could be fabbed but I dont have those skills by a long shot.

Is there enuff room to get full movement for the 4x4 shifter? that would be my concern.

I would think so, you would just want to attach it with the shifter all the way back. Basically you want the shifter to compress it in the back when it is back, and compress in the front when it is forward. I know that your shifter has more movement than mine, but that would seem to be the ideal setup. I would say measure the total travel distance, and then look at the measurements on that boot and see if it is enough. I believe that one is about 7 3/4" x 8 1/4".
