I am going to put crossover steering in my 1991 Jimmy. What year and model do I give the lackey at the China store to get the right 2 WD box? Thanks.

If you want the same year..

1991 R1500 Suburban..

But I think any 2wd box will be the same from 81-91. The box I have is from an 83 and it is correct for my 91.

Can I have a related HIJACK? For my First Gen '72, would I get a '72 2wd box or would a bit newer 2wd box be better and still fit? Thanks.

Hoby, its all in the fittings. Get one from a 69-80 if you have the stock p/s pump.

I have one from a '77 (I think), it has the flare fittings for the hoses. I'm getting one from an '84 1/2 ton 2wd. It has the o-ring fittings to match my '89 Blazer!

Any 2wd truck box from 81-91 OLD BODY STYLE will work, IIRC the new body style 88-up won't work even though they are O-ring fittings because they mount inside the frame rail (once again i think i recall that being the issue).

a crawler buddy of mine keeps telling me to get a "quick steer" box from what he thinks to be 93... anyone have any input on that one? he claims there is a year of chevy steering box that will bolt right on that will give you faster lock to lock steering.
