The CS 130 Alternaters have 4 conection spades and the battery charge lug. The Four spades at the plug in are labeled as follows
S
F
L
P

S is for Constant Power
F is for ??????
L is for switched power
P is for ??????

The Sub. that donated it's motor and some wiring to the buggy had a Alternator plug that only used two of these spades adn the Bat. lug of course.
Problem is the STOCK plug that came on the sub for the Alt. is hooking up to the F spade and the L spade.
When running the F spade shows Alt. charge voltage. The L spade is the one that I have my Switched power connected to.
This seems to work out Ok.
My question is
What is the F Spade for, also what is the P spade for ???? And second Do I have to show this Alt. Constant Power on the S terminal?
I have Searched as long as my patience lasted.
Thanks for your.

Hope this helps

The "P" terminal is connected to the stator, and may be connected externally to a tachometer or other device. (think diesel)

The Nova Source deal doesn't anwser my question. It tells you to hook up bat. power to the S terminal and switched power to the L terminal.
I wanted to know why from the factory my Sub. was wired diferent than that. The anwser that I got from my local Alt builder/Guru is that the L terminal is always the switched power. The F terminal is used to show some piece of equipment how hard the Alt. is working. He claims that you don't want to show that wire any power. The S terminal does not have to be hooked to anything.

Not a problem. Thanks for trying to help.
I did look at a factory wired Alt. today that the only wire running into the plug was the L terminal wire.
The CS 130 has an internal sensing unit that makes it not need a constant hot hooked into the S terminal.
Kind of a cool deal for a stock 105 amp Alt. that only needs the battery charge wire and a switched power wire.
