Do these eliminate vibes from the driveshaft or just put up with them?
They tolerate more in the vibration department. They have to be setup correctly too in order to eliminate vibrations.
They eliminate vibes by counter balancing them at one end as opposed to counterbalancing them through both ends, by making the pinion point straight down the shaft the last u-joint doesn't induce and imbalance. The CV has an internal locator joint which automaiticly balances the two angles. The same can be ocomplished by creating equal but opposite angles at each end of a non-cvshaft so they balance each other out, but extreme angles are harder to balance than a CV style shaft.
