Got an issue and not sure why... The outer c looks like it not going upwards enough I cant get the Axel back in looks like there is about an 1/2 inch it needs to go up. The dust boot on the top ball joint is not even close to the inner c. ball joints look the same as far as there compared to the originals.

I did not have to beat the crap out of any thing to get t apart that went real smooth..... Any ideas !!!!!

I bet you have the defective lower balljoints that are STILL sitting on parts store shelves despite the recall. They made the studs too tall in one run causing the knuckle to not properly seat and they made the threads to long on another run.

I personally had lowers with threads too long and another member had tapers that wouldnt seat which sounds like what you're describing.

I got fed up with mine and cut the stud and ground the poly lock off my nut. Worked perfect but shouldnt have had to do that. Plus it was 11:30 at night and I had bought and installed the balljoints like 6 months prior to assembling.

yea well after talking to the suspension specialist at o'reily's he sad they had an issue with some of there joints.... Well i flippen wonder why no one said so yesterday !!!! pissed! now i have to go press these out ! @#$%$.

Ill up date when it's done

Thank all ! Mike

What brand ball joints did you get? I just put in upper and lower Moogs in my Blazer, and had no issues at all.

Anyone know who made the recalled units...?

I have two new sets of XRF b.j.'s, I'm wondering if they were a mistake...:eek1:

Original reports were that it was Moog balljoints but my Carquest ones were messed up too.

The dead give away is if your lower ball joint comes with a poly lock nut instead of a skinny flat nut.

Its the lowers that have been wrong. Uppers have been fine.

Stormis is correct if you have any lower with the poly lock nut don't use them. The brand I got were Master Pro sold by O'reilly Auto Parts. upper joint was 32.19 and lower was 12.99 they made it real good by switching them with moog's straight out! moogs are not cheep when your on a repair budget!

Thanks to all that help out here !

Mike

Oh I forgot ... It was the lower joint that caused the issue. I installed the lower to see what would happen and all went in fine however I still put in the upper moog joint also. Back to it !!
