Just thought you'd like to see the pics. One of the spider gears is wedged behind the ring gear, which punched a small hole in the pumpkin. The cross pins.... there in there somewhere. Outers are good though:waytogo:.

WOW and to think the ring and pinion is the last thing I said I was worried about with my d44. Guess the gurus are right, the side gears are the failing point.

Shoulda locked it! :p:

I should state the details. I did'nt do this. Purchased it from Stomper for the knuckle conversion for my International. A friend of his was plowing snow down a road in 4x4 and this happened. Causing the yoke to pop off in the process. It's impossible to spin the ring gear. I would've loved to been there to hear the carnage.

edit: It had drive flanges, no lock outs here. The spindle bearings and what not definitly showed that.

Too think all those trucks I've seen plowing and said "what a waste of a d60, they dont need that" LOL

lol, i wonder if anyone has tried using JB weld to completely prototype something? could lead to some interesting things. a JB weld spider gear, a JB weld carrier, JB weld ring and pinion gears, JB weld prom dress...... or at least chastity belt :eek1:

Gotta say, thats a pretty intense break, i mean it punched a hole in the pumpkin?????? im impressed.
