I'm just about ready to install my 60, and i was wanting to put the breather valve in before i fill it w/ fluids. I remember muddinmanny having a detailed write up on how he did his, but i can seem to find it. I thought he said he got some parts at home depot, but i dont remember. Anyways, if you guys could direct me on what i need and where to get it then that would be awesome. Oh and if its not called a breather valve, here is a couple of pics to show what i'm talking about. Thanks.

MuddinManny deleted most of his threads and posts.

And yes, that's a breather valve.

I jb welded a piece of 1/4" hard brake line in my housing. It's been that way for over three years now. I really had no choice because it was a trail fix.

You could also tap it with an 1/8" pipe thread tap and use a barbed fitting. You will have to catch the metal shavings that are going to fall in your diff if you go this route.

that is what it was called. a barbed fitting. I couldnt remember what size it was, so thanks for the help.

If you put some grease on the tap it will catch most of the metal chips & keep them from going into the housing. :D

thanks for all the help. I already picked up the tap and fitting or i probably would have swaped the one from my other axle over, and i do plan on putting a one way valve in the inline after it is ran from the axle. Thanks again.

Screw MuddinManny.

i'm sure you're not the only one who feels this way, but he did have a detailed post that had lots of pics and info with some knowledgeable advice from other members which helped steer his project in the right direction. either way i think i'm set now to get this done.
