Dana 60 Front \\ Chevy vs. Dodge

I was wondering whats different on the dodge 60 from the chevy. Are the perches in the same spot. What about the shock mounts? What would I have to do to mount the dodge 60 under my chevy Blazer? Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Dana 60 Front \\ Chevy vs. Dodge

what year dodge? this determines a bunch of differences
unlike chev dodge used a lot of d60s over the years

Azkicking bushing kit will make it bolt in to your chev lift springs

Re: Dana 60 Front \\ Chevy vs. Dodge

I am talking about an early to mid 80's dodge with a kingpin style 60 front.

Re: Dana 60 Front \\ Chevy vs. Dodge

I used a 91 dodge
if search works on this site you can find a ton of info
several guys here used dodge 60s
wms-wms is 2" narrower then chev
spring perches are ~.5" wider, azkicking sells bushings that fix that
remember to get the spring cap plates
I use the stock 91 brake lines and they bolt to the chev frame hard line IIRC
I may have reflared them when I moved them but do not recall doing that
steering arms differ

Re: Dana 60 Front \\ Chevy vs. Dodge

my friend with a chev 60 in his stepside, used a dodge steering arm... instead of using a steering block.

as far the dodge 60 goes.... mj told you all you need to know... Oh wait cept for the pinion yoke go get yourself 1350 chevy d60 pinion yoke... Most likely your going to have to shorten your front driveline so tell the driveline shop to put a 1350 yoke on your front dline......

Re: Dana 60 Front \\ Chevy vs. Dodge

Chevey uses a 1310 yoke, not 1350, on front axels. Including the D60.

Re: Dana 60 Front \\ Chevy vs. Dodge

I put a D60 out of a 1982 Dodge in my blazer. It bolted up just fine. I used everything that was already there. The brakelines worked, the driveshaft was perfect, the springs bolted up fine, the steering, everything. It was easy.

Re: Dana 60 Front \\ Chevy vs. Dodge

thats why i said buy the 1350 yoke.... if you have to buy a new yoke.. and have your driveshaft worked on... why not buy the bigger yoke for the axle.. and have them put a bigger yoke on the driveshaft while they are working on it???? /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
