OK, my mom's '97 Chevy K1500 Suburban's instrument lights (with headlamps on) are not working now. Before, they would only work at full bright (on the scrolling dimmer switch). Now they don't work at all. The Radio display still works on full bright, but not the actual backlighting of the radio buttons, nor the instrument lights.
I'm vaguely mechanical. Electrical is probably my weakest. My question is, should I replace the switch? Should I look for a fuse? Should I check for a short? Should I use a voltmeter on it??? I just pulled the bezel off and looked at the harness at the back of the switch. They look fine to the naked eye...any help is GREATLY appreciated.
