Working on chevy 84 crew 4x4 switched out 350 to 454 .Kept 350 hydro.Problem is 454 does not have detent cable bracket and 350 bracket does not place cable in correct position.Parts store's and yards do not have solution. Most 454 are set up with 400hydro and don't have bracket.Any solution short of fabrication of bracket? /forums/images/graemlins/crewcab.gif(not sure of proper cable length to carb position)

Your best bet is to check out the speed catalogs for a univerasl type bracket if you don't want to fab something. The adjustment of the cable is not as critical on these as it is on the TV cable on the 700R4. The 350 cable only controls passing gear and you don't even have to hook it up if you don't need the passing gear.
