In my hometown there is a small festival every year with a car show. This truck showed up this year, and I figured although it isn't 4x4...it's pretty damn neat. I know there were a few board members talking about a Detroit Diesel swap.

Wish I could have had a chat with the owner, but he wasn't around. I also couldn't crawl underneat other than the rear axle shot because of how the truck was parked, but I wish I could have.

There was a picture with specs of the truck, but it's an '84 C30 with a Detroit 4-53T, an Eaton Fuller RT610 10 speed tranny, Spicer 5831 3 speed auxiliary with o/d, D70HD rear axle with 4.10's.

that is a very clean install.... I'd like to see how the fuel milage is on that

The guy had a little specs plaque where I got the info from (it's in the link) he claims 17.5-18 mpg out of this.

Any idea on the power ratings of something like that?

haha, thats funny... I just worked on one of those motors for the first time last week... This old scow had a pair of those 4 cyl 53T's in it.. The 53 series comes in 3 and 6 cylinder too...
