Diesel Brothers Live

Awesome!!!!

Timing was a little off, but Heavy D nailed the jump...
Props to the pilot! :bow::bow:
I don't care what anyone says, flying a plane that low between the ramps with a 12,000 lb truck coming at you at 65 mph takes some nuts....

Yeah, just saw it, looks like the bro dozer jumped after the plane went through. Major air time for the truck in the air.

Yeah me and my wife noticed that as well. Still amazing to see something like that done though. I'm sure a lot of people though he was nuts for wanting to do that lol.

I tried watching it but ended up switching the channel after the razor jump...then I ..

I figured they would be successful ,if not,I'd see the carnage on the morning news...

Anything on discovery channel is shit. Do not watch or support this channel.

For that matter, most car shows on tv or the net suck.

One exception, however, is Finnegan's garage----because he actually goes into detail. You know cars, are kinda technical and it would help to get technical instead of selling out?

I tend to agree--all the "car shows" like Fast & Loud,Misfit Garage,Counting Cars, etc, are 90% drama and fantasy, the "builds" get glossed over, they show practically none of the work involved, just the end results..

Shows like "Alaska The Last Frontier","Alsakan Bush People",etc, and other "reality" shows are mostly staged, not "real" too...they are moving these shows to other channels like Animal Planet too..
"Forged In Fire" got boring quickly too..

Now they are showing promos for some new show about catching pythons in the Everglades, and I never liked "Swamp People" --every year there is less I actually want to watch on Discovery--and "American Pickers" is on way too much too--I "like" the show, but how long can one listen to two guys beat a seller down on his prices and not get burnt out ?..ditto for "Pawn Stars"..now that the old man died,I haven't watched it much..it is on some local over the air channels (repeats) now also..

Shows like "Naked & Afraid""Deadliest Catch" and "Gold Rush" are boring to me, and most of Discovery's other offerings lately make me want to ditch cable more & more--only reason I haven't yet is the weather has sucked this "spring" and I've been unable to make and erect an antenna so I can get the Boston & Providence "over the air" stations..

I want to try that first before I cancel cable, because I have doubts the signals will come in well enough not to have pixilating or drop outs--I have that now WITH cable on local channels..but it may be due to old or a defective coax cable, only my TV hooked to the "main big box" seems to do that..bottom line is cable TV isn't worth nearly $100 a month ,not to me anyways..I pay that much for internet and a landline, that alone is enough of a ripoff..

Gas Monkey was ok until Arron left (can't blame him) and the show turned into the Richard Rolins "it's all about me" show.
Not really interested in watching how much money he can throw around with his rich buddy, and buying property and night clubs.
I really liked it when Big Chief and Ryan handed his azz to him in Vegas...

I did meet the guys from misfit, they are more down to earth but still they have this weird "we are tv stars" thing going on...
surprisingly, the paint dude John Klump was the coolest one out of the bunch...
Tom, the fat obnoxious guy, is just the same in real life...very arrogant and obnoxious...
I don't think I could handle working with him..

What I dislike about all of the car shows is the way they only give a split second view of the work the they did or are doing, I figured it is done that way because they don't want anyone copying their work. Like it's a big secret or something...

They had some episodes on all those shows that were interesting, but too vague as far as HOW the build actually was..
An example ,on Fast & Loud they did a G-10 van and converted it to a 4x4,using a "donor truck" (which was a shame to cut up and throw away most of its decent body parts some of us would kill for up here)--this show interested me because I have a nearly identical van as the one they started with, even the same color, and I had thought about making it a 4x4 ..
But they didn't show a hell of a lot as far as the conversion, instead they wasted half the show doing some fantasy BS about a tequila Richard Rawlings was going to start making..that was when I started tiring of watching it..when Aaron left, that was another reason..he spent 15 years with Richard and he treated him like a cash cow,but he probably didn't get much cash out of the builds..
Can't say I blame "Tom" and the others that quit Fast & Loud to go work for the other Tom who used to buy cars from Richard either..but at times he seems like he can be a dickhead to work for too..

Diesel Bros have built some impressive trucks, but the show is about the same as all the rest--they focus on shop drama between the workers and stupid stuff, and gloss over the actual construction details..

Many of these shows have an adverse effect on the used classic car and truck market--now everyone with a beyond restoration rotted hulk of a vehicle thinks they are now worth 10 grand because "its rare"..and they see restored ones selling for outrageous prices--it also makes it appear doing a restoration is a lot easier than it is in reality..

Roadkill is always a good watch. The early seasons of Wheeler Dealers were pretty good, but that show got ruined later on.

Going way back, Shade Tree Mechanic was a real honest to goodness automotive show.

Roadkill is cool !!! I like when they go out and buy a vehicle sight unseen and do whatever they have to to get it running and then try to drive it home...

Then of course, the Nascarlo and Stubby Bob are epic !!

I met Sam Memmolo & Dave Bowman in Nashville at Fan Fair back in the early 1990s when TNN had that show on..both were very friendly and actually knew a lot about cars--Sam is also a huge fan of one of my favorite artists Suzy Bogguss,on one show he mentioned how he "coveted" her CD ,and I did see him at her fan club party in 1992,but didn't get to speak to him there..

TNN was the best channel on TV back then--they had all the good tractor pulls, monster trucks and NASCAR races and other motor sports on all weekend, and the best live music shows during the week..I was pretty bummed out when they sold the channel to "Spike" TV and dropped all the good programming..

We also lost the only good independent country music station locally that would play ALL artists, not just the "popular" ones, and album cuts, oldies, etc that year too..the new owners switched to an "urban rap" format..
I felt like I was lost that year.losing both of my favorite TV and radio stations..I think when Gaylord Corp. sold TNN and Opryland, that was the beginning of the end of country music's popularity surge it had in the 90's..

I have only watched a few episodes of Roadkill online,I cant watch it on my cable package, and I'm not spending any more to get the channel it is on..I did like that show a lot though..

TNN went downhill before the official Spike changeover, remember they started calling it "The National Network"? I think that's about when Hotrod TV (later called Horsepower TV) and Trucks with Stacy David came on air. I liked those shows too, but they later got ruined. Oh, and there was My Classic Car on around the same time frame and I believe that show is still in production on another network.

I don't have cable or satellite and don't pay for any subscriptions either. But most of the Roadkill episodes can be seen for free on You Tube.

Yeah, the old Hot Rod & Trucks shows were great. I liked Chuck Hanson and his "grocery getters" lol.

The old Shadetree Mechanic show gave me the info and confidence to tackle the then new EFI rigs. I remember thinking TPI was the absolute chit!! Lol

I still see Sam on the tube from time to time. Dave, not so much.
