Diesel K5, what do you think

It's huge, it's overpriced (wait, that's Canadian), and it's huge and overpriced.

I've seen it around. It's huge, and overpriced....like everything here on the coast. Personal rant of mine. Everyone here thinks their sh!t is gold dipped here. I can dip down into WA state and find the exact same thing I'm looking for for half the price. Regarding currency Andrew...US and Can $$ right now are about par with each other. Not that I care much, just the jokes aren't valid anymore...not like they were when our $ was worth about 35% less than yours.

Couple of things...it's "Bert's" in Surrey, not Brett's. You'd think for how much he allegedly had to spend there he'd remember that. Second, 534:1 gears? :haha: :haha:

I loved my 6.2 in My Jimmy, but 39.5's were already really big for that motor. I cannot imagine what it'd be like with 44's.

Okay, but still...it's huge and overpriced.

5.34's and 44's...I bet it can spin them but WOW...poor 6.2L...

Front end Dana 60 with new warn hubs and completely rebuilt by Brett’s in surrey cross over steering with hydro assist for steering, new 68 “ leafs on front with ARB air locker with 534:1 and 4 rancho 9000 with air controls new calipers and pads and new steering ball joints steering box ect...

Trans is a SM465 4 speed with original 70 km new clutch and new slave
Drive shafts Front 55 degree with commercial joint with 9” travel. Rear is new as well high angle.

Rear end 14 bolt with Detroit with 534:1 drums Completely rebuild by Brett’s surrey
New gas tank with bushwhackers flairs on all corners

Have beedlockers for it as well

call me a hater...

68" leafs? pic's please...

rancho 9000's with air controls? They did make a multi position RS9000 with remote kit...but it's still a POS.

Steering ball joints? Really?

55 degree front shaft? firstly I'd love to see it, secondly that thing will never flex enough to need more than half of that.

Beedlockers? I'd be asking for pics...cuz the pic he shows it has plain old white wagon wheels.

Last thing, Bushwacker cutout flares. Maybe OK if you really, really love them...but they're very difficult to get rid of without major bodywork so you're pretty committed.

For half the money I'd say it might be worth looking at, and then offering low if it checked out clean.

The thing with a truck that built is it's at least 50% built the way you DON'T want it to be built. I'd rather find a good shape diesel K5 and then start building it the way I want it instead of undoing the stupid/halfass/confusing/whatever mods this guy might have paid someone else to do (which is worse most of the time than redneck fab).

Read the ad:

New gas tank with bushwhackers flairs on all corners
The gas tank has the bushwhackers flairs. This means that it has Australian style or personality ... heck, it has four of them, one for each corner. (Unless it's a triangular gas tank, which on this truck wouldn't surprise me.)

Now, if the gas tank had Bushwhacker FLARES ... no, wait...

:haha:

Seriously, I donno which is more whacked, the truck, or the description of it. I guess English can be mangled just as well by Canuckistanians as it can by, say, rednecks in Arkansas.

Come buy my diesel Jimmy for half that! 1 ton axles, turbo 6.2L / NV4500 / NP241. 4" lift springs up front, shackle flip out back.

Needs the pinion shimmed & a zero rate installed out back, longer shocks, and a set of nice offroad tires ;)

On second thought -- I think I want to keep this one, haha! But, I do know of a good 6.2L diesel engine if you'd like to swap... I could meet you in Loydminister, AB/SK if you like!

Much easier to do the swap IMO...I swapped one into my Jimmy and it was pretty straight forward.
