Difficult Stearing in my 79 Blazer..

I just got my blazer the other day, and for one, when goign straight, the steering wheel is twisted, it looks like I am turning, but I am not, and its really loose it seems, its hard to explain, but its hard to keep her steady and not jerk around the road, I have to turn it a few inches before it actually turns the wheels, and when trying to just drive straight, I cannot keep the stearing wheel steady, it pulls to the sides really bad..

What could it be?

One of the 1st things I would check would be to make sure that all of the bolts holding your steering box on are good and tight. From there, I would check all of your rod ends and ball joints. Also, being out of alignment will cause your steering wheel to be off center.
