dirt grip, or ssr's

Re: dirt grip, or ssr\'s

Any new news or opinions on the PJ's? My buddy just picked up JDBlazer454's old K5. Needs some new 38's kinda lookin between the SSR or PJ 38x15.50's only $7 difference between them from natltire.

Thanks

Re: dirt grip, or ssr\'s

Ive got 38x15.50x16 PJ Dirt Grips on my K5. I love them on the highway and around town. They are quiet and wear good. Ive only got 5,000 or so miles, but they seem to be wearing fine. I do not particularly like them in the mud. I run below the dam in Disney, OK and there is some deep mud. Half the time I make it, half the time I dont. Swampers ARE better in the mud, but nowhere near as good on road...even the radials. I will be going back to swampers just b/c they are soooo good in mud.

Re: dirt grip, or ssr\'s

The PJ is a GREAT tire, They look very good, ride smooth, and wear very well. I ran the SSR on my K5 but I am going to go with PJ's on a dodge CTD soon.

Re: dirt grip, or ssr\'s

SSR. PJ's were nice and rode well. Just couldnt justify the price tag. Have been out with a few jeeps that have the MT/R not so good in the mud witha lite vehicle. Dont want to see what happens with a heavier vehicle. Good rock tire, not so great mud. *** MY OPINION, I dont want a 4x4 that can just perform in one situation. And well Sand, Snow, Rocks, and Mud are the four things I built my rigs for. MY OPINION*****

Re: dirt grip, or ssr\'s

I personally have seen MT/Rs outperform SSRs in mud.

I'd take MT/Rs over either of these tires any day.

Yeah if they came in a 38 or were available in 37 with a 15" rim ever I would run them too.

Guess I'll just tell him to buy Hawgs /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

They do have the MT/R's in 37x12.50x15, I was thinking about them my self.
