Dmax in a 72 blazer

Hey Mods You should let me post atatchments
EVERYBODY and thier mother wants to see this
So do you:laugh:

Take it easy newb....

Your tech isn't going to make or break us here. We'll be happy to welcome you around as a non-paying member, it's not about getting your cash. All you have to do is remote-link photos from another site if you want to get stroked by the members here.

Telling the mods how to do their jobs, or how the site should be run is going to start you off on the wrong foot around here, and nobody wants that. :deal:

You're a 1st Gen guy, so I'm predisposed to like you BTW. :D

I do have to say the Duramax is one 'ugly' engine though...it looks like a big magnet that was dragged through a parts bin with seemingly random crap stuck to it.

Rene

Yeah, but it sure is purdy to me!!!! (almost makes me wanna add it to the 'spank bank'):waytogo:

Jumping from high horse

Looking back at myself in my frustrated past posts I Know I was and am out of line.
I vented out of frustration :doah: I was wrong
If needed I would be glad to give any information that might be of use.

are you familiar with how to post pics now? the best way for you to do it is to host your photos somewhere else, (say photobucket, because it's free). then you can do one of 3 things. there's a list under each photo at photobucket of ways to post the pic. copy the link that refers to forums, or copy the address of the photo and then write
, where "link.link" is really the address you copied. or, there's even a handy little button on the top of this text entry box where when you click it, you can it asks you for the location (address) of the photo, put it in, and the computer will at the html
, and then your pics will show up as they did in supersize75k5's post.

That motor hangs down quite a bit.

I'm thinking the reason is that the Allison is quite large and they didn't want to cut the floor any. One of the pic's from up top seems to verify the whole drivetrain is at quite an angle...the angle the alternator is sitting at being the visual clue.

I cant understand why its so low.
Mine fits absoluty perfect they also look to have moved the engine back a bit.
I know this is rude but Im gonna say it anyways. It looks hack
you will notice on my setup I am using the factory 02 rad suppourt and cool pack.
It all fits like GM meant it to. I will try to get some better pics.
Once I get mine all cleaned and painted you will be able to see past the gook.

I'm sure it's because the 2WD tranny tunnel is so shallow and they didn't want to alter it...which isn't any good reason at all IMO either.

I expect better from something showcased at SEMA to be honest.

Hmm 2wd different?

I had never seen a 2wd use a different trans tunnle. Ive allways known them to just have 2 holes 1 hole or no hole depending on 2wd, 4wd auto or 4wd stick. and that is a cover that unbolts

But yea sema is slippin to let that through

yeah theres a shallower tunnel on the 2wd's IIRC

I got it

Its not that 2wd tunle is different, It just hit me
the 2wd front eng cross member is HUGE and they set the eng back to compensate. I would have fabbed the front member .
:D

correct, they are massive and low, here is my old 71 project I did, just a 3/5 rake on it and I had to take the top base off the jack to get it under the crossmember.
