Contemplating heater options on my truck, due to firewall surgery. Was curious if the trucks that didn't come w/AC have the dash vents or not.

My 77 didn't have dash vents...not sure about the newer ones though. My 81 has the vents but it was an A/C truck.

My 78 doens't have a dash vent nor did it have factory AC. I suspect this is true for most of the 73-79 blazers.

I started with nothing and I still have most of that left! - <a target="_blank" href=http://community.webshots.com/user/borregok5> Pictures</a>

i had a 82 short box with no ac but it did have vents for the heater. Dont know if there is a differnce between a pick up and blazer??

From what I have seen and dismantled, non-A/C trucks have NO dash vents, but ALL trucks, A/C or not, have the windshield vent to defog them and the regular vents going down to the floors.

OK, thanks guys. I think I figured out that I'm gonna keep the AC stuff on the inside of the firewall (the heater box), and modify a non AC blower housing from an S-10 under the hood. It should work out better than the full size non AC stuff for my application, since the fan on the S-10 spins the opposite direction, and will allow more tire clearance.
