I was trying to use a 1988 slip yoke in a 1980 NP205 transfer case. It's tight. Really tight.

Should interchange. Ive interchanged them several times on my own stuff.

Weird. I figured it would interchange, but it acts like the output bushing is too tight.

It glides ride through the seal, it's the bushing behind the seal that is giving me problems.

You sure everything is real clean?

I had one that had some rust down inside the slip yoke that was real hard to clean out. It would slide on about an inch and stop. Had to run a wire brush on a drill inside it and soak it in pb blaster and it was still tough to get on. Loosed up after I drove the truck a couple times though.

I agree I had a random drive shaft from a slip yoke 205 and we used it on a 208
