hey guys now i know the dodge d60 is 1/2" wider then the chevy now i have my 79 dodge d60 front can i just drill the wholes 1/4" over on each spring plate and then drop the springs on and call it day or what?? any other suggestions??

Cheers

Nick

That will just elongate the current holes and i wouldn't recommend doing that as the axle can move side to side if the U-bolts come loose or for whatever reason don't clamp it tight enough. IIRC there are special spring bushings made that are offset to correct for using a Dodge axle. Some people i've also heard of just spreading the springs slightly and calling it good but IMO that shouldn't be done either as it will only stress the bushings and prematurely wear them out.

clarkjw24 has one under his blazer...he said he just pryed the springs over...im sure his is safe he drives it on the street once a week...i think he also said he used a 12 bolt spring plate for the pass side..get in touch with him he can tell you the details..

I have no idea but i've seen it talked about on here. Do a search and you should find it.
