I got mine from Costco and have used the hell out of it. It was about $150 or so. It will do up to 4000 lbs. I can't remember the brand though, maybe Arcan. It is red with the collapsable legs that fold up with good heavy duty metal casters and it came with a load leveler. ebay has a ton of them for sale for a good price.
i tell you what, i figured i'd get it one more shot, i went back today, and got them to swap me out for another one. i got it home, and it assembled flawlessly. everything lined up like it should, and i'm impressed. it looks like a decent little hoist for $150. i guess the first one was a manufacture defect.
